Grange Saint-Sauveur, Arceaux Rosé - 2020
Grange Saint-Sauveur, Arceaux Rosé - 2020
Just the colour alone here brings joy. Coppery-salmon. The aromas elate. Nougat and dried citrus. The palate mesmerises. Textural, taut and mineral. Best damn rosé we've had in a long time. Yes, it's a pricey rosé – but it's a cult classic in the making.
Alice and Antoine created Domaine “Grange Saint-Sauveur” in 2017. The name refers to the grange (barn), which is attached to the tiny chapel of Saint-Sauveur. They biodynamically farm 6.5 hectares of Grolleau Noir, Grolleau Gris, Cabernet Franc, Chenin, Pineau d’Aunis and Gamay, including vines planted 80 – 100 years ago and the most recent plantings in the 1980’s. Their old vines are goblet trained in parcels along the Loire River protecting them against frost. Antoine relies on his expertise in microbiology to create wines of character and identity via natural methods.
