This is a decidedly focused, linear, and to-the-point dry riesling. Even though the terroir of Oak Knoll in Napa typically can produce round, unctuous styles of white wine, this Riesling is all high-toned green apple and lemon, without the typical peach-blossom florality of the Rieslings of the old world styles. On the palate, the wine is lean and fresh enough for pairing with oysters, but with enough fruit and backbone for a more classic pairing of schnitzel or pork chops. - Nathan Lithgow
