A Syrah with some proper bottle age and a nice savoury strut. Expect black cherry, plum, black olive, cracked pepper, dried violets, leather and a little wild smoked-meat thing that makes Syrah so good with food.
This is not polished-to-death international red wine. It’s earthy, expressive and full of character, with the fruit now moving into a more mellow, spicy, grown-up place. Lamb, charred aubergine, roast mushrooms, beef stew, sausages — all strongly encouraged.
