NEW VINTAGE! Can you say 'Steak Night!'? We just threw together a nice 30-day dry-aged Cote de Boeuf and popped open this wine, and had a blast. If you're a fan of quintessential, deep, luscious California Cabernet, this wine is absolutely for you. All of the fruit here comes out screaming, with the typical velvety tannins and plush mouthfeel you want and expect for a great value here. The nose shows abundant red fruits, lots of bright cherry along with bramble-berries, such as blackberry, cranberry, mulberry, and framed with hints of mineral/herbal characters such as graphite, cedar, and pencil shavings. The palate is vibrant and fresh to balance the bass-driven palate weight, with and beautiful acidity. We'd recommend a decant on this wine, 20-30 minutes before serving. MATTHIASSON is a family endeavour, the effort of Steve and Jill Klein Matthiasson, and their two young sons. Both Mom and Dad had life-long careers in sustainable agriculture, and apply those ideals of balance, restraint, and respect for the individual—and for the whole—to the wine.
