Yeringberg is one of the historic names of the Yarra Valley, and this Viognier shows the class of the place. It’s aromatic without being a caricature: apricot, ripe pear, orange blossom, ginger, almond and a gentle soft texture.
Viognier can sometimes arrive wearing too much perfume and shouting across the room. Not here. This has richness, but also shape and freshness, which makes it brilliant with roast chicken, spiced squash, coconut curries, soft cheeses or anything with ginger and herbs. Fancy, but not fussy. We like that.
