The Münzenrieder wine-growing estate lies in the Neusiedlersee/Seewinkel national park in Austria's Burgenland. This bottling is from a single vineyard, Reid Romerstein, boasting dark, rich stony soils. With 2 weeks on skins and 12 months in French Oak, this wine is a top example of Burgenland Zweigelt. Red Berries, dark cherries, it is juicy, but with incredibly elegant texture. Age-able AF. Pair with game, sticky sauces, grilled and smoked meats. At just over £20 it's a stellar deal. This is my new house red!
