Florie Brunet and Adrien Bariol met in the middle of the vineyards, each with their own wine-growing experience, but both with the desire to create an estate that resembles them: simple, warm and respectful of the world around them. They found their place in Southern Bugey, tucked into the mountains, the last foothills of the Jura.

Don't let anyone tell you that Gamay is restricted to Beaujolais Nouveau--this wine will prove them wrong. The pale ruby colour would be enough to back you up on that argument, but it's followed by such bell pepper, blueberry, and rose petal concentration on the nose that you'll have to double-check the label yourself. The vibrant juicy palate is a great indication of the grape's provenance, however, with raspberry and blueberry pulp followed by a black pepper and cardamom finish. Smooth, ripe, fine tannins and moreish acidity contribute to this wine's drinkability, and it will disappear far too quickly for you to buy just one bottle. - Sarah Wright
