Meet the Maker: Darren Smith, TFWATH
The Finest Wines Available to Humanity.
Meet our dear friend Darren Smith, a UK wine writer turned nomadic winemaker who founded TFWATH — The Finest Wines Available to Humanity.
After years of writing and exploring vineyards and harvests worldwide, Darren took his love for wine one step further in 2018 to create his own label.
His mission is to craft one-off, minimal-intervention wines that push boundaries and encourage discovery of lesser-known grape varieties and wine regions. His wines are produced in collaboration with winemaker friends from both hemispheres, including Ignacio Pino Román (“Nacho”) in the Chile’s Itata Valley and Raúl Moreno Yagüe from Jerez, Spain.
Darren’s TFWATH wines reflect his deep respect for the vineyard and a spirit of adventure. These low-intervention, organically farmed wines are meant to excite and inspire, living up to the promise of being some of the finest available to humanity.
