This is a goregous English Sparkling Wine coming from Hundred Hills in Oxford. It's freakin' delicious, but on top of that, they're working with virgin soils that have never seen herbicides. They're boasting light, eco-design bottles and fully recyclable packaging to keep their carbon footprint to a minimum. They are reducing their carbon impact year on year with net-zero as a clear near term goal. Vegan-friendly, their clean clear musts require no fining.
No malolactic fermentation keeps the wine bright and fresh, while 3 years on the lees makes for a textured and complex experience. 2018 was a warm year, and the result is generous. Cooked pears and quince, floral, bright and a touch of nuttiness on the finish. One of our new favourite UK bubbles!
